Microsoft brings OneNote to Android wear, updates apps for iOS 8 and WP 8.1

Microsoft is moving to bring OneNote to every device in the world even if they aren't running some version of Windows.


The Microsoft OneNote team just launched an new application for Google's fledgling Android Wear platform. Users who download the OneNote app onto their Moto 360 or another Android wearable will be able to say "OK Google, take a note" to transcribe anything they say into a virtual sticky note.


The OneNote team also announced it has also improved its app with a Share extension just in time for iOS 8. The new functionality lets users share content from apps using OneNote.


OneNote will appear among your another social media channels like Twitter and Facebook allowing users to upload images and share website clips. However as a more work-oriented application, users will also be able to transfer their email attachments to Microsoft's cloud.


Saving the best for last


Of course, Microsoft isn't forgetting to improve its OneNote app for its own mobile platform.


OneNote for Windows Phone 8.1 is getting the best new feature called Office Lens, which allows users to take a photo of a document or whiteboard and turn it into a digital document.


The OneNote team explained in a blog post users can take a picture of a paper document and convert it into a word document. Alternatively, taking an image of a whiteboard with OneNote will digitize the text and images to produce a PowerPoint file.
