Facebook at Work might make you more productive starting next month

Facebook at Work might make you more productive starting next month

Checking Facebook at the office could become part of your job, as the company may branch out with its new network for professionals next month.

Succinctly called Facebook at Work, the network allows employees to connect, assign duties, and share information over the previously-personal social network - and is expected out soon, TechCrunch reports.

Facebook at Work not only functions, but also monetizes, similar to competitors like Slack and Convo, which currently charge a subscription fee for data storage and group messaging between its members.

The planned model for Facebook's take, however, will reportedly scale its prices to the size of the company rather than a flat rate - preventing scenarios where a team is paying for more space than necessary for their virtual meeting room.

Given that most employees are likely already familiar with Facebook - and are probably keeping a tab open in anticipation for their lunch break already - Facebook at Work could find its place as an easy transition for companies, though we won't know for sure until the program comes out of beta this fall.
